There was standing room only in the weights building at the Torres Shire Sports Complex for the String Man Competition. With only three competitors, Silver Sirel, Jade Callope and Peter Gea Gea, taking part - it was anybody's contest

Although the three competitors weighed in at different divisions, Callope over 95kg; Gea Gea under 85kg and Sirel under 80kg, they flexed their muscle against each other in Squat, Bench Press and Dead Lift.

Callope came first in the power-lifting with combined weight of 440kg. Second place went to Sirel who lifted 352.5kg and third place Gea Gea had 370kg. The winner was calculated on body weight divided by the weight lifted and on body weight count back there was less than 0.1kg between first and third place.

Meantime, results from other events held on that Saturday afternoon, Sirel on the rowing machine, was just shy six seconds of beating the record for rowing 500m ub 1.27sec which was set last year. Apart from clocking the fastest time rowing, Sirel also had the most sit-ups in a minute with 45 completed.

Dea Kirkpatrick won the most chin-ups in a minute with 19 completed and he also took out the push-up competition with 48 completed. Left arm wrestling was won by Gea Gea against Callope with the right arm result reversed between the same two contestants.
