TERRITORY GOVERNMENT CONSULTATION

Torres Shire Council invites all residents to participate in its forthcoming consultations to be conducted on Territory style governance for the Torres Strait region.

The consultations will provide information on past models of governance proposed for the region, how other territories in Australia operate and possible models of representation that could be implemented.

Consultations are scheduled as follows:
7.00pm Thursday 5 November - Thursday Island (PKA Hall)
9.00am Saturday 7 November - Prince of Wales Island (Muralug)
7.00pm Monday 9 November – Thursday Island (Old TRAWQ Hall)
7.00pm Tuesday 10 November - Horn Island (Ngurupai Sports Complex)

Mayor Stephen will host the governance consultations and will be accompanied by the local Councillors.
