After the blessing and opening of the Prog Gali Community Gardens during the recent Multi-Cultural Festival on Friday 13 September 2024, Council is now inviting Expressions of Interest from community members interested in obtaining a plot at Prog Gully. EOI forms are available at the Council Administration Centre. Completed EOI forms must be into Council by no later than COB Tuesday 15 October 2024.
There is a $20 security fee once the plots have been allocated.
On Saturday 19 October 2024 at 2pm, there will be a meeting to form the Community Garden Group that will be comprised of plot holders and interested community members who may wish to volunteer for working bees, work/help in the community garden, propagate plants, create soil and compost, as well as elders for the elders’ garden.
The Community Garden Group will be convened by Torres Shire Council’s Aquaponics and Community Gardens Coordinator, Gene Loban assisted by Alfred Mitchell. Proposed Agenda items will include:
Even if you have not put your name down for a plot but are interested in helping with odds jobs or work around the garden, you are most welcome to attend and get involved. So get stuck in and put in your EOI and attend the Meeting at 2PM, Saturday 19 October 2024.
