Quarry

The Horn Island Quarry supplies produce to many of the outer Islands and some communities on the northern Peninsula area.

The Horn Island (Ngurapai) Airport is owned and operated by the Torres Shire Council. It is considered to be the gateway to the Torres Strait and the Northern Peninsula Area. The airport is located on Horn Island, which is approximately 8km from Thursday Island.

Landfill & Waste Transfer Station

All Commercial waste will be taken directly to the landfill as organised by the Quarry Manager.

The Horn Island Transfer station is for domestic waste only.
