With Commonwealth Government financial assistance, the Thursday Island R.S.L and local families worked together to build a memorial in the park, which lists all of the names of those who served in the Torres Strait Light Infantry Battalion.
A Bandstand and covered BBQ area are located in the park and used for community events as well as being available for hire.
A Time Capsule was installed in front of the Bandstand on 16 July 1977 to commemorate the Centenary of the Commencement of Duty on Thursday Island by Lieutenant HM Chester, First Resident Police Magistrate on 10 July 1877. The capsule is intended to be opened July 2027.
There is a fenced children's playground at the Victoria Parade end of the park.
