Due to the strong support from the community, Torres Shire Council has extended the Voluntary Vehicle Surrender Program for one more week.

New deadline:
5:00pm, Friday 13 March 2026

If you submit your paperwork to Council by this time, your vehicle will still be added to the collection list and Council will arrange pick-up as we work through the surrendered vehicles.

Collection Process

✅Contact Council 4083 1200
✅Provide Proof of Ownership
✅Remove fuel & loose items
✅Sign all required paperwork

Residents are requested to move their surrendered vehicle outside of their property boundary and place it in a location that allows safe access for collection.

If you are unable to move the vehicle, Council staff will assess whether the vehicle can be safely removed.

⚠️ Please note: Council will not enter private property if the situation is considered unsafe or may cause damage.

Vehicle Types

At this stage, Council will not be collecting trucks, vans, or machinery as part of the pickup process.

However, these items may still be surrendered by delivering them to the Scrap Metal Waste area at the TI Depot at the owner’s expense.

Torres Shire Council thanks the community for their strong support of this program, which is helping remove a large number of unwanted vehicles from the community.
