Last week Mayor Seriat, Deputy Mayor Nakata and Councillors Bani, Loban and Fujii along with CEO Bani attended the Indigenous Leaders Forum hosted by LGAQ (Local Government Association of Queensland). Torres Shire Council is proud to be a recognised member of the Queensland Indigenous Council Leaders Accord, ensuring First Nations leaders have a direct voice at the Queensland Government policy-making table. The Accord supports practical outcomes for communities through improved liveability, economic development, and self-determination. We value the opportunity to collaborate, advocate, and contribute to stronger outcomes for Torres Strait communities.
